Training is the biggest part of your race preparation.
There are lots of different factors and Michelle has asked the greatest athletes alive (okay, some of our greatest customers alive) about their training hacks.
Triathletes, Ironman, Ultraman, Cyclists, Runners and Swimmers what their most underrated training hack is just to help you along your training journey:
"Train twice a day. Threshold AM, easy PM." Glen, Accomplished cyclist.
"Just follow the plan - do what the coach says!" Kristen, Ironman.
"Look after your butt, avoid chaffing and sitting around in your sweaty bibs! Also, wear sunnies." Sue, Accomplished cyclist.
"Make sure you practice your race nutrition for all your race pace training sessions. Put all of your training sessions for the week in your calendar as soon as possible and plan your work/life around them. Try to get them done early in the morning if possible. It’s too easy to let sessions slide when they are not prioritised and you get tied up with work."
Jen, Triathlete, Ironman and Ultraman.
"In swimming I am always trying to feel stronger than the water so I do this particular drill called Delay Freestyle. This drill is one I do in every pool training session. In the warm up, without any equipment as well as through the paddle and pull sets . It sets up an effective and efficient underwater propulsion phase of Hook, Pull, Push . Even in an open water session if I feel I have lost my rhythm, I’ll do this drill and regain my ability to feel stronger than the water."
Jo, Swim Coach, Open Water Specialist, Ironman.
